Children's Books, short stories and coloring books for kids

Copper Coyote Enterprises was founded in 1998 as a vehicle for publishing the continuing series of   The Adventures of Copper Coyote, imaginative tales of a friendly coyote. It will grow in scope to a multi offering of related products. We will be adding new books to the series on a periodic basis. We will also be adding other fun things like stuffed animals and posters. In addition, we plan to publish the works of other authors who share our vision of providing clean, fresh, nonviolent entertainment for young people. It is our hope that you will enjoy our products and that you will check back often for new additions to our site and our catalog.

HOW A STORY IS MADE
Every story begins with an idea. At Copper Coyote Enterprises, we often sit around a table and discuss various ideas. We also review the ideas sent in by our readers. Once we have an idea for the story, the Storyteller begins to make notes. He has lots of notes and refers to them often as he writes. Boy is his office messy! The Storyteller uses his imagination to create the first draft of the story. Then he reviews what he has written and revises it to take out some of the really big words and long-winded sentences. Then he usually puts the story aside for a while, plays a round of golf, then returns to the story with a fresh perspective. The Storyteller makes some more changes and then has to check spelling and grammar before he presents it to the Editor. She is very picky about those things!

The Editor and the Storyteller spend time together reviewing and amending what the Storyteller already thought was pretty good. The Editor usually finds a polite way to say "this needs a little more work," but she sure likes to use a red ink pen. At last the story is completed and is saved on the computer.

Next, the Storyteller sends a copy of the story to the Illustrator with some guidelines about what he would like to see on each page. She uses her creativity to develop the sketches for the coloring books, and then fills in the color for the illustrations. The illustrations are then turned into images and are inserted into the story. FINALLY, the book is ready to publish!

The completed book is sent to the Web Master at the Web Site Design company. The Web Master adds the information about the story to the web site and makes sure the information is in the catalog so that it can go on sale.

Now the story is ready for you to enjoy. Perhaps in reading it, you will have an idea for another story. You can
send us your idea, and the process will start all over again.

THE STORYTELLER
Our Storyteller, Richard B. Hindson, lives in the Sierra Estrella Mountains in the desert southwest USA. He has a keen sense of observation and is inspired by the natural beauty and wildlife around him. He has always been an animal lover and has often been praised for his storytelling abilities. He is delighted to share his stories with all of you. By the way, our storyteller is also the publisher, the owner of Copper Coyote Enterprises, AND our boss!

These short stories are for children.  copper coyote provides educational material, coloring books, children's books, and children's short stories that are non-violent.  the short stories are about animals: coyotes, owls, rabbits, ground squirrels, and skunks.  They demonstrate friendship and teamwork.  The animal stories are set in  Arizona, so there is information about Arizona wildlife, desert wildlife, and the desert southwest.
